Police and fire personnel responded Monday afternoon to Beach Road off Makuu Drive in Hawaiian Paradise Park on a report of a missing diver.
According to police, witnesses said the diver was last seen about 300 yards offshore sometime after 1 p.m. The man was described as a local man, possibly in his 40s, with short dark-colored hair and dark-colored shorts, with a tattoo on his back. He was reportedly wearing a mask, fins, had a fish bag and a light-colored buoy with a red rope attached.
Witnesses later lost sight of the man.
